First Sunday of the Year/ Epiphany Sunday

This morning, Will, Joshua and I went to a nearby Church for worship because we all slept in. That's what happened to you if you watched a long movie starting at 10 p.m on Saturday night. Back to Church, the pastors let us know there that Christmas is all over which made me very sad. Because Christmas is not over until the day of Epiphany which is Jan. 6th - which is 12 days after the day Jesus was born which is the day the wise men from the east arrive to Jesus bearing gifts. Each year many people short-change themselves at Christmas by shortening Christmas before the SEASON is over. There was no mention of the wise men or the bright star that led them to baby Jesus or gifts they brought with which to greet Jesus. I was thinking about what kind of gift/gifts I can give Jesus this year besides my life and devotion. We did sing some Epiphany hymns with no explanation of why. Regardless we all three came away feeling good that we had gone to worship God whose great gift it is that we are beginning to live in and enjoy- A Very Happy New Year. We give thanks to God.
