Life's simple pleasures

As worship ended this afternoon, Will said "888 is calling me" I said ok. So, we went to 888 Chinese Bistro on El Camino Real in Houston, Texas. We ordered Chinese menu #31 fish and pickled vegetables, Singapore style rice noodles and stir fry Spinach with garlic. It was very light in taste and delicious to no end. In the middle of lunch I said, "If my father was here he would say, how nice it is to be alive!". Some days, pleasure of life comes from such a simple surprise, only if you can see it, feel it and enjoy it.... A bit later we went to hear Alena - my new 17 years old niece sing at her first voice recital. She sounded beautifully and it was truly a treat. We knew Alena sings well with such beautiful voice. What we did not know was that the other kids were also very good singers. Some of them even funny. What a treat all together. Life's simple pleasures are all around us because God put them there for us to enjoy. So, let's not only stop to smell the roses but also to see and hear God's blessings of all kinds. Life is good. God is good all the time.
