Today

This morning, Will and I were examined by the presbytery's examination committee. At the end we were told that we passed "The Exam" and we will be welcomed into the presbytery during the next meeting in October. I am reminded of Proverbs 15:33" The Fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility goes before honor". I thank God for my father and all those who taught me the meaning of this passage. We went to the Gallearia- my first trip. Part of it feels like being in Paris and Rome. A nice change from the morning. I really needed to get out of this place for a short time and there it was- we ate lunch at the Le Madeleine where I heard people speaking french and eating as though they were in Paris. So, we did too. After that tasty plain croissant, rosemary chicken, salad and of course a glass of wine, I was ready to come back to Houston, happier and grateful for God who provided much needed time out from Houston. On to home after that for a nap,and then to church for Bible study and then worship in which I got fed spiritually, and then to a supper with many church members. I am surrounded by God's love through his people and scriptures. My Life is a journey, most of the time it takes me to places and people who are kind and hospitable to strangers like me. Sometimes it takes me to a detour where I get to learn to practice humility and patience. My life is a journey God gave me to travel. The path is not always understandable but I know who is traveling with me at every moment " God himself". I like my travel partner and that's all I need. Of course Will is a bonus travel companion who is great! So, this bring me to my end of the day prayer, "THANK YOU LORD FOR MY JOURNEY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRESENCE ON MY JOURNEY AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE THAT SURROUNDS ME AT ALL TIMES".
