Lent

Psalm 51

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God,
   and put a new and right spirit within me.
¹¹ Do not cast me away from your presence,
   and do not take your holy spirit from me.
¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
   and sustain in me a willing spirit. 

¹⁵ O Lord, open my lips,
   and my mouth will declare your praise. 

¹⁸ Do good to Zion in your good pleasure;
   rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, 

These are the words that ring in my heart this morning.  So then they become my prayer for the morning, for this day, for my life. My first and favorite senior pastor and mentor Bill Leety had us begin staff meeting prayers and many othere cooperate prayers with Ps. 51:15, " O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise" I always liked that. Now every time I hear it or read it I think of Bill.  Today I open my lips, I declare God's praise for having given me Bill Leety to teach me how to be a pastor.  

God is good. All the time.  Thanks be to God!
