Life is a journey which we begin at birth. Each of us begin our journey in a particular place and time but we all travel on the road called life which is a gift from God. On this journey each day we learn something/s hopefully including some wisdom which brings us happiness, joy and peace.

Friends
One of God's treat in human life is friendship, in my opinion anyways. Last week Ruth and Martha were here to visit their cousin Dee and aunt Roxy and me. We saw each other almost everyday, we met somewhere for lunch or they came to my house for dinner. We talked, we laughed, we ate and we had tea like old times in Louisville. They came to my new church and stayed through the "Go Texan Chili Cook Off" and had a good time. On Sunday Willie and Bill also came from Richmond, TX bringing a pot of Chili. So, there we were together again - almost. I wondered around leaving them sitting at table with some Clear Lake people, just like back in Louisville. They enjoyed meeting my new people and listening to the Gospel Joy singers sing. They also enjoyed seeing how Will, Bill,Willie and I dressed up with the cowboy stuff like Texans, I mean cowboy boots, hats and etc.etc.
I enjoyed taking them a round Clear Lake, Kemah and Seabrook- a few places that I have learned. One day we had lunch at Le Madeleine and then they helped me pick out my first James Avery earrings. I took them to my favorite seafood shop in Seabrook - Pier 8. We bought Salmon and I cooked it at home. They were introduced to Fish Tacos and they liked them. One afternoon right, after eating fish tacos, we had a manicure and pedicure - how fun! I wish they were here for 2 more weeks, but they said that they had to go home - how rude of them!
The day after Ruth and Martha left Lynn and Adrian arrived - h...u...r...r..a..h! God loves me, and very much too these days. He brought me more old friends. They actually are staying in our home and and was it fun on the evening they arrived - I took them to the little smoke house near our home to eat BBQ TX style. The next day was my day off, we went to Rice Village and all over town. It was fun. At the end of the day, with Will, we went to Pier 8 to eat a "You Buy it, We Fry it" supper. Lynn could not stand the look of uncooked fish so she went out to find a picnic table (actually Ruth was smarter, she would not even come out of the car!). I had them fry shrimp, red fish and oysters. Oh, red fish was never heard of in Kentucky so, I got to introduce it to all 4 of them. They liked it as as much as I do. We sat outdoor eating and drinking, taking pictures talking and laughing. I would cook but Adrian objected so the next night we went to Vila Capri. Just like in Rome, Lynn and I had wine and the guys did not. Adrian laughed when I complain to the old man who owns the restaurant that it was 'shame on him' for not having Tiramisu. I also told him that it was the 3rd time I was there and no Tiramisu. He being a typical Italian gentle man, started with, "My dear....next time call ahead, I will make it for you". As my husband and friends were embarrassed by me I had a great time teasing the wonderful old man. It is true that you can pickup where you left off with real friends. I will finish this entry later.
"May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us" (Psalm 67:1).
For now I will sign off saying, blessed am I who have many friends. It certainly does feel that God's is shining upon me through these friends.
