Itchy fingures

This morning, I woke up with my fingers itching. I thought if father were around, what would he tell me to do with these itchy fingers? He would say, "write what's in your mind and your heart, the itch will go away when you have written enough". So, here I go. Last weekend was marvelous. On Friday just beginning mid-afternoon I got to be with people I love and like. They are namely Kendra, Alena and Luke. Later Will and Steve joined us. We went to the seafood market to get some fish and shrimp for supper. Luke made a comment on the baby squids so, I got some of that too. The last time I bought and cooked squid at home was in Seoul, Korea in 1987, a few years before Luke was born. We had a great time cleaning the squid and other things. Alena fried the Shrimps. Oh, yes, Luke did the frying of the squid. We ate, and talked and laughed. We cooked other things as well. Every thing was delicious. We even watched a movie called, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" What a lovely way of ending the week! We made no boasting of the next day or the days to come. We were living in that very day and moments and enjoying one anther's company as an extended family. The Bible does teach us in Proverbs chapter 27 V.1 Do not boast about tomorrow for you do not know what a day may bring v.10b Better is a neighbor who is nearby than kindred who are far away, and v.19. Just as water reflects the face so one human heart reflects another. That was a wonderful, soul-soothing, heart-singing kind of afternoon and evening. There came Saturday, with a restful first half of the day with Will at home. And then we went all around town looking at computers and DVD players. It was more like taking a walking class on those topics. I felt like a couple of idiots trying to get free education. I will not apologize for it, the educators were not complaining. We did buy a DVD player at the end of the day. The blessings continued to pour over us on Sunday. We went to church with the Simmons. Willie and I never had a chance to sit on the pew together in worship. What a gift/opportunity to worship with friends all sitting together. Willie suggested that we go to eat lunch at the Rice Village. I ate Turkish food for the first time in my life. It was very tasty. We goofed around the shops like youngsters with too much time in hand. To see Bill, Will and Willie licking their ice cream from the cone as they walked was a priceless scene. I wish I had my camera with me. Proverbs 15:15 says, " a cheerful heart has a continual feast. Yes indeed!
