Giving Thanks

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day. One of the many holidays in America. Will and I were invited by the Oglesbees to their home. The feast on this holiday usually consists of a big roast turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, sweet cranberries, relish tray, green beans, dinner rolls, stuffing, gravy and it goes on. Dessert usually includes pies like pumpkin, pecan, apples, cherry etc. Kendra also made date pudding. We ate and talked and laughed and ate some more, we took a walk, we painted water colour for fun, some watched American Football game on TV, we talked more and then ate more and enjoyed the whole day like that. It was not only a holiday but also a "Holy Day" when enjoyed with old friends and family and new friends in a relaxed happy contented manner. Kendra's parents were also there from out of state. They are delightful people as well. Her father is very sweet calm man and her mother is cute. She is the only daughter and the youngest of 2 whose older brother was 20+ years older than her. I like them both a lot. All of this is to say that it was a real "HOLY DAY" for me and for Will. We both grew up in large families and we thank God for those who are gracious to us at times like this. God is Good All The Time. For which we give thanks to that very God. Thanksgiving is celebrated - we now look forward to anticipating the birth of our Lord Jesus. For the first step, I brought out all our Christmas dishes, washed and have them ready to use for until the end of Epiphany day. Will is vacuuming the house as I write this.
