Yes, it it true that they do come to an end. Joshua's summer with us this year is over and he is gone back to his parents in Louisville, KY. His parents, my sister Lt and her husband Run, are very generous in that they let us have Joshua for the holidays. The very short 8 weeks holiday has come to an end again. We had a great many good times. My family has a tradition that every child must learn something new that's not a school kind of learning each summer. This summer Joshua learned how to drive a standard shift car, how to dissect a chicken turning it into Tandoori Chicken, how to cook a few more dishes, among a few more things. It was fun to teach him as he enjoyed learning all of the new things that he was taught.
Will preached at different churches all through the summer as he was invited. Joshua played violin during worship everywhere Will preached. I sat at the pew like a good mother and wife. That made my heart sing. I keep remembering my parents, my uncles, aunts and grandmother who made summer holidays such fun for me when I was growing up. It is also a great honor to now be the older one in the family. Some days Joshua taught me how to read music or gave me some piano lessons. We communicated with family all around the world a few times. It was fun to watch him enjoy Frasier on TV. He is growing up indeed! At his will, we took him on a Rice University Tour. We all fell in love with that school. Our friend Rob Banfield took us to tour NASA one day and we had a marvelous learning day. Not to mention the great time we had.
The day came and we took him back to the airport. By God's grace he had a smooth uneventful flight home. He is now in a Tennis camp there. School will begin in another week or so and Joshua will be a Junior in high school. By God's grace winter will come and we'll see him again at Christmas time. By God's grace life is good! God is great!!!
