God works in mysterious ways....

As we were getting ready to move a few weeks ago, I came upon this picture.

It was one very hot day with 114 degrees in late April some years ago at the Taj, in India.  It was so very hot that we had to sort of skip around.  The well heated marble was not very friendly to our well covered soles of the feet from the U.S.A.  At one point Dave said to me, "Come one Brown girl, let's dance" So we did.  We toured the rest of the big magnificent Taj dancing around.  Of course I did not remember the heat at the point.  His lovely wife Sue Mooney (one of my closest friends) watched us giggling only as Sue can.  Many people looked at us with curiosity. But nothing mattered except the fun I was having with the big fellow.

Dave was that kind of a human.  He could find something fun in most situations.  He had a great sense of humor, marvelous ways  of being alive, generous heart, and great taste for food.  Oh, yes, he was an excellent chef.  There are some people God sends you just so you may learn from their ways about the goodness of God and the meaning of how to live life joyfully.  Dave was one of those people, Sue was another and so were Bill Leety and Larry Rhodes.  I was newly ordained pastor, wait, actually I was ordained because their Church called me to serve as their associate pastor.  I did learn so very much from all of them.  They taught me much about life and they loved me.  I came away from them more mature and a better pastor. All of this bring to mine mind:

proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times.

Today I thank God for all my friends for Dave Mooney in particular.
