A few weeks ago, Will and I watched a brilliant movie called, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." We loved it. What's not to love about a movie set in India the country Will and my parents call HOME and where I learned to be an adult by living ther from age 18-25, not to mentioned Judy Dench and Maggie Smith - two of our favorite actresses - playing main roles. I went to the movie sure I would be entertained and love every bit of it - which I did. What I did not know was that there will be some theological reminders God would give me via that movie. One of the main character said, "Every thing will be alright at the end. If it is not alright, it is not yet the end." Wow! I heard God then. I was reminded that we Christians are promised good. God will make it all alright at the end. In the midst of all the happenings in my life since January, I really needed to hear God's voice. I did that day via this movie. My prayers were answered. God said to me, "it's not yet the end." So, God does speak still.
We loved it so much we went back to see that movie again. Guess what, I heard God speaking to me again in the exchanges of Maggie Smith and Judy Dench.
Maggie Smith: "Mrs. Greensladeare you staying on here at the Marigold
hotel?"
Judy Dench: "Things don't always happen the way you plan. Do they?"
Maggie Smith: "No they don't.....
But what happens instead is the GOOD STUFF".
So very true. It's been always true. God gives us what we need. Some times what we need is not what we want. Do I sound like I am preaching now? I suppose I am. Sometimes I have to blog to remind my self that God is with me, with us with all of us. "OFTEN WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD IS THE GOOD STUFF."
Thank you God for speaking to me still.
