Holy Week

It's Wednesday of Holy Week. I sit in my usual favorite spot in the family room with a cup of coffee thinking, reflecting, writing and watching my favorite show HGTV. Boy, don't these people know how to transform homes and yards! As I reflect back the last few days I am overcome by gratitude. LT and Joshua had left us on Sunday afternoon. They were with us for 9 days. It was fun and full of emotions. LT had not been doing well since mother died. We had many conversations with our siblings in Myanmar via conference calls. It was great to be with all my siblings even on the phone. It felt like we were together in person even though our night was their day and their night was our day time. The children and the in-laws got on and off the phone from both sides of the globe as well. Crying and laughing and talking all happened many times. I give thanks to God for this gift called telephone. Sometimes they called in from the beach where they had gone to vacation (mother's favorite vacation spot), sometimes they called in from mother's grave site and sometimes they called in from a fancy restaurant. Mostly we called them at home and woke them up for our fun. We grieved together, we remember mother out loud together, we found comfort in one another and most importantly we felt God's presence together despite how many miles apart we are. All of this in 9 days reminded me of Psalm 133 How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down upon the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down over the collar of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion, for there the Lord ordained his blessing, life forevermore. That was one of the Psalms father taught us to memorize when we were children. It is very true that life is in harmony and joy-filled when we get along. During this Holy week, I thank God for all the blessings we ( my entire family) received, are receiving and will receive from him.
