Last Sunday was Penticost Sunday in which we wore red and celebrated the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the Church.
Now we have stepped into "Ordinary Time." I have been so waiting for this. I love the season of Ordinary Time in which extraordinary things tend to happen. In this ordinary time of the liturgical season, the trees are fulliy clothed with darker green leaves as it is deeper into the summer, children are out of school, those that were in the last year of high school graduated, those that are in college and universities getting to work or back to home for a much needed rest. Parents and grandparents delight in the more relaxed schedule, movie theatres filled up all day with people watching, loved ones travelling to see one another.... the whole world is buzzing in a different rythem. All of this make my heart happy. Yesterday I spent all day with Joshua cooking, eating, chatting, and watching a little bit of tennis on TV as it was his first day of summer holiday. What fun! At 9 p.m. we drove him and his friend to the movies to meet with their other friends there. He is almost 18 now and just finished 11th grade. Wow! I thought. The boy I used to take to the movies now is the boy I dropped off at the movie for a late show. Life is great. He is growing up and I thank God for His guidence in Joshua's life. One of his friend's parents delivered him back about midnight. What fun it is to be alive.
Let's expect extraordinary things from God during this ordinary time. God loves us at all times, let us be reminded of that every time we see the green leaves on the trees this summer.
