Zig zags on the journey
I had a zig zag experience on my journey of life just a few weeks ago. Unexpectingly and to my surprise The American Church in Paris interviewed me for an associate pastor position. They invited Will to come along too at their expense. We had a 4 days intensive interview experience including teaching a Bible study and preaching from this historically marvelous pulpit. I did not get the job. But the experience was so fantiastic that I felt like I had been on a spiritual journey of sorts. I met many people who are great and sincere in their faith. We worshipped at the Church all 3 services on Sunday. It was a marvelous experience. Paris was as charming and beautiful as always. It was spring time and just simply green, cool and gorgeous. Will and I had been there only during later summer, fall and in winter time. So seeing this beautiful city in the spring time was a treat. I met some real French people, good God-loving people which alone was a real treat. I beleive that Will and I are blessed with two new friends in faith and colleague in ministry Scott and Kim. I saw God's smile and reassurance in them and some of the other people I met. I had more than one hour of visiting with the music minister, Fred, at a cafe. I wanted to meet him ever since Will, Joshua and I attended a Christmas Eve service in 2010 when we heard him play the organ there. I received a series of spiritual blessings during those 4 days. That alone was worth taking the trip to be interviewed. God works in mysterious ways they say and He really does. This zig zag of my journey was not to get a new job at this time but to be renewed in my spiritual life. God is in charge - I shall not be in want. I am a child of God who depends upon His grace, mercy and love every moment of my entire life. That is renewed in my heart. Thanks be to God. In deed I am thankful all the same. Today I even received a kind phone call from the senior pastor there.
God is GREAT! life is good for believing it.
