2014 arrives!

Such fun we had with friends to spend the last hours of 2013.  So good to have Ziri having her new friend Ann Marie who is of her own age.  We ate, we drank, we talked, we laugh, we nap sitting up on sofa, we repeated it all till the year ended.  We sent off the old year with great joy and gratitude to God.

And then came the New Year! Arriving with all it's fullness, goodness, promises, blessings and joy from God.
 Pictures to follow.
We slept in. I woke up to the cloudy sky.  As I watch the sun trying to rise in midst the cloudy sky I remember the last Psalm my father taught us.

Psalm 24

Entrance into the Temple

Of David. A Psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
   the world, and those who live in it;
2 for he has founded it on the seas,
and established it on the rivers.

3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
   and do not swear deceitfully.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of their salvation.
6 Such is the company of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory?
   The Lord, strong and mighty,
   the Lord, mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
   The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory.

We spend the morning leasurely at home.  We went to attend an open house New Year's Day party at Judy's house around 1 P.M. Met many friends and strangers. Had a great time.  We came home took a nap.  I cook Mizo chicken (arsa leh buh chhum).  We left at 5 to attend another open house New Year's day party at Karen and Mark's.  We learn a new thing... in the southern tradition we eat black eyed peas for good luck on New Years day.  I ate quite a bit of it.

Home. Movie "Sharlock Holmes". Ate the Mizo chicken. So relaxed and so happy all day long.
God is good.
