Silent/Quiet time

Mark 1:35 In the morning, while it was still very dark, Jesus got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.

I am pretty sure Jesus was an introvert based on verses like the one above.  I love my quiet time in the morning before anyone else get up.  I have a favorite spot in the family room from where I see the sun rising. The dark sky turning lighter and lighter and beautiful colors on the sky and the sun rises slowly on it's  own good speed.  I love it all.  I am not too much of a morning person but I am awake early often enough to see this.  I love it.

This morning I sit here and pray for my sister Seni (Lalremthangi) on her birthday.  Her name means "famous for peace making" she lives it out all through her life and I give thanks to God for her.  She was a surprise baby when I was 5.  My parents brought her home from the hospital... a cute tiny little baby who had a big voice in crying.  I resented her so much.

Then Seni grew each day prettier and prettier and she was so sweet.  She became my first real friend.  She sung like an angel even when she was in 2nd grade she sung in the big church and praised God.  She still does. Now she sings with her husband and her 3 daughters.  I thank God for this sister and ask God to bless her even more each day of her life.

The sun is getting up now, the sky is rather bright.  I am looking forward to going to a near by village later when my husband is up not to proclaim the good news like Jesus did but to visit the sick in the hospital and care places.

It is Saturday, I can't stay in a quiet place too long.  Like Jesus I am glad I had a chance to be quiet for a little bit each day.  Life is good.
