Day 3 of the year: Nanu's birthday in heaven

My mother is in heaven dwelling in her own room in God's house John 14:1-4.  My family in Yangon went to her grave as it is an annual ritual.  I can't believe it has been 6 years since she went home to God.  This time, for the first time they took daisies and roses not just roses to the grave.  I am so happy to see daisies in the pictures they sent me as it is my favorite flowers in the whole wide world.

I remember how she taught me to recite the first two verses of Psalm 125 in times of trouble and doubt all through my life.

Psalm 125

A Song of Ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be moved, but abides for ever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people,
from this time on and for evermore.

First at home growing up and then in College she worte to me from home reminding me of that. And then in work places when I called with complaints and concerns she reminded me of that Bible verses.  I am 54 years old now, an ordained pastor and wife, I still go to those verses in the Bible when in doubt or trouble.  I am so thankful to God for my mother.  She was gentle, beautiful, but tuff in disciplinning us in studies and teaching us about life.  I miss her.  I feel the sweetness of her presence, her grace, her sense of humor and her awful cooking.  I love my mother and I am thankful to God for her.

Oh, yes Will and I went to the beach this evening to walk and sit and watch the sun set.  My mother loved beaches.  So, it was very fitting that we were there.  Actually God must have nevigated us there. Will thought frineds inviting us for a beach picnic was today but it was yesterday.  God does work in mysterious ways.  I love that too, especially today.
