Koko

My baby brother Koko turned 42 yesterday.  I remember the night they were born 42 years ago. I was 12 then.  They were almost born in the jeep on the way to the hospital as father told the story to us.  My parents who lived in the patriarchal society had 4 of us girls in a row.  My mother suffered a great deal the first 3 months of each pregnancy and difficult child birth each time.  The doctor told her to quit having a baby at the 3rd time.  If she had listened to the doc Nutei would have been the last of us.

Being a traditional wife she decided that my father's blood line should go on and she should keep giving birth till a boy is born.  My baby sister LT was born as the 4th girl.  The doctor said let's make this the last. My mother said, "No. Thank you." So, the 5th time she was carrying twins. From the month 6 she lived a very uncomfortable days with the twins growing well in her.

So, Koko and Richards were born in the middle of the night.
The happiest night for all of us in our family.  The doctor being a friend did not even ask my mother this time but tied her tubes :) very funny indeed.

There is nothing more fun and joyful than being the oldest of 6 children.  I loved it.  I still do.  Unfortunately Richard had leukemia and died at age 4.   Koko has been a wonderful brother most of his life.  When he spent a few years being 'off' we prayed and lit candles in his name.  God heard our prayers and Koko returned to a good life.

I love my brother. He is funny. He is fun. He is faithful to God and to the Church. He loves God. He loves the Church. He loves our mother. He loves us. He loves his wife and his children.  He is a blessing from God for all the 42 years of his life.   I give thanks to God for my brother. I pray for God's blessings to fall upon him beyound measure.  I pray that he will lead our family.

God has been good to us, to Koko in particular.  Thanks be to God.
