Thursday early afternoon's reflection of the yesterday...

Psalm Psalm 16:7aBless the LORD who gives me counsel.

Yesterday morning I had a good long quiet time with God.
Read my Psalms. Picked 92 to be my Psalm for the day.
Answered some emails and wrote some emails and returned some work phone calls.
Big mistake as usual.
Abit later..with Will,
in our devotions we read some more scriptures and Thomas Merton's diary and prayed together.

Came 10:00 A.M or shortly after...

I walked in to the office building with my lovely newly purchased African basket to support "A War to end Hunger in Ghana" greeting all I met on my way to my own office. It took awhile to get there as I never know how to just walk to my office but greet everyone on the way. Life was good and refreshed and happy.

I made my mint tea in a brandnew mug given by my most thougthful partner in crime in Congregational Life Department, Ann.  Smelling hot mint tea I was ready for the day.  Wandering around collecting grace and blessing from everyone else in the office beyound mine, I started my day.  It was wonderful as always. but I had hoped to go to Water Color Painting...

Came 11:00 A.M...

My appointment (Joe) arrived. He had never came as planned in the past- so I said yes. But yesterday he came, talked and talked and asked questions about his future as he had burried his lovely wife of longer than I have lived. She had been his life for so very long and now he is alone.  I chimed in now and then although I only knew her the last 6 months or so after she started getting sick.  It made him feel good that I reaffirmed to him that I told her it was ok to go home to God.  I felt very humbled that this respectable man of life, love and faith has come to me as his pastor.  I know very little by comparison to his knowledge of life and love.  I was privilledged greatly by Joe and God. After a little over an hour or so, we bid good byes and  exchangedhugs.  He left me feeling organized and loved and I felt very blessed. My feet felt light and grateful as I walked back to my little office.

'My Ann,' as I refer her, and I went to lunch at a new place. She drove. I paid.  We talked about silly stuff about life, home, exercise bike, flowers, sewing room at home etc. Just sutff. And we ate. We laughed. And we returned to work. We did work. We worked Hard!

Came 2:00 PM...

It is very heart wrenching to help a friend (Judy) and her children (Nancy and Scott) plan the memorial servie for their loved-one (husand and father) and a friend of mine too.  I made pressed coffee for us to drink as we planned the service. We talked. We laughed. We shed tears. We drank coffee. We repeated the whole process not in any particular order. At the end we held hands in a circle as I prayed to give thanks to God for Glynn's life that touched us in many kind ways and for granting him eternal healing.  God was with us. God was leading us. The Holy Spirit passing through us many times over.  They left and I was refilled with love and energy.

I did some more work on the computer. Not my favorite kind but necessary while Ann went to the Campus center to get us ready for hte evening's class.

Came 3:50 PM...

I put my knitting needles and a thing of yarn in my new basket and left to join the Prayer Shawl Knitting group I started 5 years ago and have hardly have time to join them. It was fun to hear them talk and knit. I had a mess on my yarn- so I got to start just a few rows of a new shawl. My spirit was very happy.

Came 5:00 PM...

Knitting time is over.

I went to the Campus Center for dinner and learning.  Talked with all that came. Welcomed back the newly arrived snow birds.  Ate quickly.  Made announcements. Said the Grace.  Greeted more arrivals who came just to attend the class.

Came 6:30 PM...

Dr. McConnell taught on God and Hollywood. 94 people were there. The movie was Jerry McGuire.  He taught well - as always.  He gave questions for those who love to discuss. It was a fun learning about faith and God through the move for all.
Husband Will helped me clean up the hall. I am most thankful to have him nowadays.

Came 8:00 PM or after...

we are so very happy to go home and begin our weekend, as tomorrow is my one and only day off.

God is good.
All the time.
