I did not have time for a quiet time with God today as we had to leave our home by 7:00 A.M. In the car before driving, Will and I had a short devotion - we held hands and recited the first few verses of the 23rd Psalm, " The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.... and I prayed".
Many thanks to David T who took us to the Tampa Airport from his home. Oh, yes we drove to his house from ours. After going through the security and all, we sat down at the restaurant to eat breakfast. Their salt - water fish tank was still there with the pretty fishies and all. It was nice to be here after 2 years of never travelling.
We arrived at Louisville Ariport on time at 1:05 P.M. LT and Malawma were waiting for us. I thought he is a nice guy, meeting him for the firt time. I called Buffalo Trace and learned that they had Blenton's Bourbon today. So, Malawma drove us there strait from the airport, an hour long. They told us that it was sold out just before we arrived. I was crushed. Will too was sad for me as he knows how we could not find it in Sarasota for nearly 2 years. I went to the ladies room, there I prayed and prayed to God asking for Blanton's. I know looking back now it seemed funny, a pastor praying to God for Bourbon of a specific kind.
God is always good. As I came out of the ladies room I saw a nice lady who said to me, "are you ok? may I help you" I told her about why I was so sad. She, who works there told me that if I go on a complementary tasting & lecture, I might get to buy some Blendon's at the end of it. No guartee, she said. That truely was God speaking to me through her. We went on the tasting, all four of us. We had a good time and got to buy Blenton's. I was so overjoyed. Even a stranger buy one for me (of course I paid him and thanked him profuselly) as each person gets to buy only a bottle. I am probable set with Blenton's for life now. Ha ha... I thanked God many times.
We came home to Lt and Malawma's home and had the most delicious Myanmar traditinoal rice noodle dish called "Moh Hinkha." Will loves this dish and was so happy to eat it. My sister makes it better than I do. I too ate lots of it. We had nice conversation over dinner. After dinner we shared some Bourbon. Late at night we had a second diner. We had sunflower seeds and apples and oranges... It had been a fantastic day. God is great and I am so very grateful. I decided that I really like my sister's boy friend. He is a gentle person and very interesting.
The last one of my family went to bed around midnight. That's when I started having my quiet time. Thank you God for this wonderful long day. Well, actually now it is 2:39 A.M, Wednesday the 14th.
My heart is too full of joy to sleep. God is good. I am grateful.
